Paintings by Wassily Kandisky
[edit]and all the images therein. (See below. Lupo 07:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC) Kandinsky died 1944, so his works are copyrighted until 2014 in 70 years p.m.a. countries. Delete Lupo 09:22, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Note to uploaders: Paintings made by Kandinsky while he lived in Germany are protected by copyright until 2014 (life of author + 70 years). Those made in France have longer protection due to extra years granted to compensate the world wars. It says so on commons, and all of these are made in France, so PD. --Edgar Allan Poe 09:42, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- You misread: "Those made in France have longer protection". Lupo 09:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- In 1914-1921 he lived in Russia. Suppose that for pictures of these years will approach the template {{PD-Russia}}, so category to delete not it is necessary. --Yakudza 12:18, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- True, but according to en:Wassily Kandinsky, "he painted little during this period." If the category is kept, the text from Василий Васильевич Кандинский should be copied over to the category page, too. Lupo 13:44, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- He lived in Russia in 1866-1896 and 1914-1921. Works of that period should be considered by the Russian Law and they are in Public Domain. Works of German and French periods seems to be copyrighted. We should check the dates on all the paintings and delete those outside the pale. The category itself is usable and should be kept. - All images currently in this category are from his "French period" (1938 and later). Lupo 15:33, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- An again, according to en:Wassily Kandinsky, he didn't start painting until 1896. Are there any paintings done by him in Russia at all? Lupo 15:35, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- I upload Image:Kandinsky white oval.jpg. In russian article ru:Василий Кандинский is list of him paintings in 1914-1921. --Yakudza 16:10, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Done, you delete all pics from the French period, whicih I uploaded, but I will upload all pics from his Russian period 1914-1921, beacuse the are made and publiched before 1954, and the cretore died before 1954, so they are PD-Russia. --Edgar Allan Poe 16:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

- All right: Category request withdrawn, even though I'm not sure that the "Russian period" paintings are indeed PD anywhere else but in Russia. The "French period" paintings that need deletion are:

Keep the category (perhaps with a subCategory:Wassily Kandinsky (Russian period 1914-1921)), but delete the "French period" paintings detailed above. — Jeff G. 15:31, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
deleted, just „french period “--Polarlys 14:58, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
