This term is a Wikipedia-created neologism
[edit]The term "late modern period" is not used by historians. It's been pushed by especially English Wikipedia in the belief that it's the counterpart to "early modern period" but without actually trying to verify this.
There are basically no sources at all that use this term and the vast majority of academic historians refer to the period from about 1800 as the "modern period/era" or simply describe something as "modern (history of) X".
There's no justification for keeping this object as is and it's clearly against the purpose of WikiData to add translations of the "contemporary period" which refers to a separate topic.
The reverts to my recent terminals are unreasonable and clearly biased. Peter Isotalo (talk) 09:39, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
