My wife and I do quite a bit of camping, and we've been trying to get rid of some of our bulky stuff and buy more lightweight gear so we can do some hike in camping or car camping without having our car packed to the roof plus a trailer in tow. Part of our search for lighter and more compact gear was the need to find more compact towels, as our full size beach towels take up a surprising amount of space.

This set of two towels suits me perfectly for camping. The large towel, at about 30" x 60", is really big and easily dries me off after a shower or swimming. The small towel, at about 16" x 16", is ideal as a face cloth, or for drying off your feet after walking along the beach. The included mesh bag is really nice, because it keeps everything together. The towels each have a loop of fabric with a plastic snap in one corner that allows you to hang the towels up in the sun, and they dry quite quickly.

Coming back to our lightweight camping criteria, the two towels and their mesh bag with the included carbiner weighs only 293 grams and only takes up about the size of a coffee travel mug (3" x 3" x 9"). This towel is easily 1/3 the weight and volume of a regular towel, which is fantastic for us.

Overall, I'm very happy with these towels and look forward to using them frequently over the next few years of camping. Similar towels range from $18 to $61, so this towel at the very bottom of the price range of $18 is an awesome deal!

I like to wrap the towel around my waist after swimming or showering, and wanted something on the large side, so I went for the XL size. It is really huge! I love it! The colour is really nice, and I find it very handy for trips, when I find hotel towels too small to wrap up in. It dries fairly quickly, and I actually used it the morning I was checking out of the hotel, and I took the blow drier out and dried it that way, so it wouldn't get musty in my bag. It only took a couple of hours to dry the day before, but I was packing up quickly on check out day. I definitely recommend this set! I love that it packs up in its own bag, too.

These are the best for bringing to the pool or car-camping. I bought this for a Caribbean trip thinking, eh, I probably don’t need this, we’ll have towels there right? Wrong! It was really nice to have a towel that was so easy to store and would dry out quickly. (For instance, if you’re at the beach, you can get out of the water once, lay it out to dry in the sun, and have it pretty dry by the time you need it to dry off the second time.) Sand also barely sticks to it which makes the whole beach experience just a little easier. Also once I forgot to hang it to dry for a day or two and it didn’t smell musty or anything. My only complaint is that it’s a bit small. I’m 5’3” and curvy and for me it was like… if it was any smaller it would have been actively annoying but as is it was fine. So if you’re tall maybe get a different one.
