Having a white laptop was a non-negotiable for me. If you are shopping for a white or silver laptop that is not total garbage, you will discover that your options are limited. Thankfully, this is a good device period, not just for its aesthetics and price. I have had to do a little tweaking to get the display to look the way I like it, and as bright as I wanted it. (Intel Command Centre app on the computer can help you there) as well as to maximise the battery life (lots of stuff, you'll have to play with several settings. Aside from that, it has been great. The OLED screen is magnificent and the best you can get in any laptop today. The speakers are the best laptop speakers I have ever heard, and match, possibly even surpass, a Macbook pro. These speakers are truly next level (for a laptop). Great screen and great sound are the two most important attributes of a positive computer experience (specs aside), so just on those grounds alone, I would wholly recommend this device.
However, there is more
The chassis is ultra-light, and ultra-rigid. No keyboard flex, and fitting a 16" screen into a 15" laptop footprint is amazing. This has been a great, portable work and leisure device. 2 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports, plus HDMI and SD is amazing selection and makes this laptop very flexible. With some settings tweaks, battery will get you 6-8 hours pretty reliably, with potential for 9-10 if you get really extreme wit the power saving measures.
Intel Ultra 7 155H gets very hot, even under light load it will often sit in the low-mid 80's, any gaming or activity at all, it's gonna shoot up to the mid-high 90's and stay there. Hardly ideal, but the fans never get embarrassingly loud, and you can set your own fan curve to determine the best balance of cooling and noise if you are comfortable doing that. I absolutely do recommend a laptop cooling pad for this one. Using one with good air flow, got my idle temps down about 10-12 degrees, and load temps fell 7-10 degrees. The 4060 can be factory overclocked in the Asus app to use 115w of power, and is a great performer. The GPU rarely passed 80 degrees, even under heavy load, and the cooling pad makes sure it never passes 75 now.
TL;DR - If you can get this one on sale ($1850 or less) it is a must. Best screen you can buy, possibly the best speakers, a very thin and very light and very portable body, a powerful (if hot) 16-core CPU, and beefy and overperforming 4060, Intel Killer Wi-Fi card, two SSD slots (one of them open from the factory to expand your storage), and excellent battery life (for a gaming pc) make this a fantastic laptop for anybody. The 16GB of soldered RAM is the weak point of this device, but at least it is very fast, and playing RDR2 at 100fps on medium settings with 20 chrome tabs and 3 other programs running in the background caused no issues, so I don't think the low RAM is that much of a bottleneck. Plus, if you are like me, and demand a light coloured laptop, this is almost your only choice, but the good news is you don't have to feel bad about that, because it just happens to be one of the very best laptops of any size or colour that you can buy for under $2000.
