The passthrough allows me to go anywhere in my house and setup a massive boundary at any time. It's not very clear, but it's very useable. The videos you see posted of recordings from the headset are much more clear than the physical use of it. Performance wise, it's incredible. I generally play games directly from the headset and they work flawlessly. The battery life isn't great, it lasts a couple hours or so depending on what you're doing, but to be honest I can only use it for max that long as my forehead starts to hurt. Both of these issues can be fixed with a 3rd party battery strap, however I have yet to set mine up. The lenses never fog up, regardless of how strenuous the game I'm playing might be. The audio is very cool, it comes from tiny speakers in the strap of the headset that are funneled towards your ears. The quality is actually quite good and it doesn't disturb anyone around you much at all.
As for gaming via Steamlink. I've only tried it via wireless as of now, and have a very good router, but it does seem to work well. I have had a couple instances while playing HL Alyx that the quality drops and the movement glitches but generally it's been very playable.
Overall, it's a very worthy upgrade if you are a few generations back, no doubt. Looking back on it, the Quest 2 might have been more than enough for me, but truly the upgraded lenses and the passthrough feature has been excellent and frankly I use it more than I thought I would. Excellent device.

I was surprisingly disappointed by the improvement in quality in VR applications, the screen resolution though definitely improved, is still not “crisp” or sharp. Fine details are still obscured by slight grain or blur. Although the pancake lenses mean that the sweet spot is now dramatically better, clarity in fast paced games such as “thrill of the fight”, and “beat saber” is dramatically improved! I look forward to getting some cardio with this thing.
The new facial interface is dramatically improved for wearers of glasses, the adjustable depth - combined with the recessed lens design, mean that your glasses are significantly less likely to scratch the lenses (hugely important; this especially can add up over time). And there is much more room to make it comfortable.
The default strap truly still sucks for comfort, I had to resort to hacking together a cushion in order to make it comfortable while I wait for proper solutions to be released.
As a VR/AR software dev, I can’t wait to get started with developing mixed reality applications with this!

The setup process for the headset was really easy and intuitive my main gripe with it is that the PCVR experience is pretty poor I understand where Meta is coming from but the headset is very capable of handling both a standalone and PCVR setting. However, Oculus' PCVR software is so out of date and it really kicks you of immersion because you cant use passthrough while doing it too. Using Virtual Desktop really helps with the process but not everyone has the hardware to run that smoothly and wirelessly.
The quality of the lenses is fantastic and games look freaking amazing on it! I do wish they weren't LCD but some compromises need to made I guess to sell it at the great price it's sold at. My other complaint is the default strap really sucks and if you have a big head or a lot of hair it frequently starts to slip when I look down so I will def be picking up a 3rd party strap or the elite strap in the future.
Overall, the positive experience outweighs all the negatives I have listed and I highly recommend everyone who's interested in getting in to VR to pick it up!

Tanto pra jogar, quanto pra trabalhar e fazer as tarefas do dia a dia.
Recomendo fortemente já comprar as baterias extras pq a bateria acaba bem rápido, principalmente no modo de realidade mista, mas dá pra se divertir bastante
