Missing some very basic functionality: (1) Swiping left/right doesn't move between sections (e.g. Home <> Canada <> World). (2) Tapping the News button when you are already in the News section doesn't bring you to the Home. Given that the menu bar is across the top, these two are essential for easy navigation. (3) Tapping a push notification often brings you to Home instead of the the relevant article

No dark mode. No ability to adjust text size on the fly. No text size adjustment at all. Tapping notifications fails to bring up the article half the time. The app just crashes. Lock/unlock resets article view to top. Have to tap a photo before it can be pinch-zoomed. Cannot customize what categories of news I want alerts for. Only on/off for "breaking news", but even the most trivial of stories seems to be breaking news at times. Not renewing my subscription because of all this.

Hi RajPaul, we are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the app experience. We will be addressing many of these issues in the months ahead. We are constantly working to improve the way we deliver the news to our audience.

Love the paper but this is just a bad app. Layout is simply awful compared to the regular web page. It's like the developers have no idea what they're doing -- or like a half-hearted effort. A bare minimum and bare bones app that has limited options, limited functionality, and a laughably limited sense of design aesthetic.
