JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Ecommerce manages our biggest store, the L’OCCITANE website for North America (USA and Canada). In charge of defining and implementing the marketing and merchandising strategy, leading analytics and optimizations for the online customer journey, with the end goal of delivering targeted sales for the L’Occitane website. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will work with key cross-functional teams, including North America Brand Marketing Team, Supply Chain Team and Product Development Team.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead, plan and manage the L’Occitane website performance for USA and Canada with the end goal to achieve targeted sales and margin

  • Drive sustainable and profitable sales growth for loccitane.com in North America, ensuring alignment with sales plan and margin goals.
  • Perform daily and weekly business reviews, sending out recaps to the broader organization.
  • Collaborate with brand marketing and demand planning teams to align upcoming collections with sales and marketing targets.
  • Execute integrated commercial programs across various channels to excel during key online shopping events and reinvigorate replenishment strategy for increased Customer Lifetime Value.

Manage the customer journey of L'OCCITANE's USA and Canadian websites on an on-going basis and for each new campaign launch:

  • Translate new campaign launches into customer journeys for the online channel and manage trends curation.
  • Oversee execution of merchandising and content strategy for L’Occitane website, identifying specific categories/sub-categories.
  • Lead personalization and A/B test strategy while partnering with cross-functional teams to support special requests and ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate closely with key cross-functional teams to drive qualified traffic and ensure alignment with brand vision.

Strategize new and in charge of UX existing Omni-channel Services and Website Functionalities:

  • Collaborating with the Product Development team to create a roadmap supporting the ecommerce strategy.
  • Develop marketing and communication plans for these functionalities, focusing on incremental revenue and ROI.
  • Lead UX analytics and optimizations, focusing on mobile, desktop, and tablet experiences with a data-driven mindset.
  • Provide recommendations for site enhancements and leverage analytics tools for in-depth analysis, partnering with the local IT team to prioritize website improvements.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high performing e-commerce team of 5 (2 direct reports)
  • Foster collaborative and innovative team culture

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • BS/BA required - MBA desirable

EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years experience in eCommerce
  • 5+ years experience in retail industry
  • 5+ years in team management
  • Experience in Beauty/Cosmetics a plus


SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in managing multiple functions in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Experience in working with Agile methodology and Product mindset
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for storytelling and crafting compelling narratives across various digital channels.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Trends
  • Ability to lead and challenge external agencies
  • Ability to retain and lead a full team, make team members grow through new challenges.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leveraging their creative vision to optimize website performance, increase conversion rates, and foster customer engagement.
  • A leader profile and entrepreneurial mindset with the rigor and discipline to build the business and creative competencies that will allow us to stand out in the market.


PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able work in normal office conditions
  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to travel via airplane within the U.S. and Internationally as needed.


The compensation for this role ranges from $150,000 - $160,000 for the NYC region. Exact compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, experience, skills, and geographic location. In addition to annual salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program.
