GU is a fashion brand under Fast Retailing that provides seasonal fashion at affordable prices and reliable quality. We aim to give people the freedom to be themselves or transform themselves through clothing. GU has about 450 stores, mostly located in Japan, with some in Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. GU has opened a Pop-up store in SOHO, NY, in Fall 2022. Our goal is to expand GU stores throughout the U.S. Market in the future.
Position Overview:
GU is seeking a Marketing Coordinator! This position will support the marketing function of a newly launched global brand in the United States. The coordinator will work alongside our US Marketing Manager to grow and enhance the GU brand’s awareness and sales efforts. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for executing plans across social, PR and in-store.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and modifications of in-store marketing materials
Proofread and edit all marketing materials for accuracy and language
Coordinate all in-store material planning and work with vendors to deliver accurately and on -time
Prepare and submit purchase orders
Record engaging, brand-appropriate videos for social media channels based on agreed direction with Marketing Manager and according to business needs. Comfortable with on-camera presence.
Assist influencer gifting and in-store shopping initiatives
Support with creating and executing events and promotions to increase traffic to store
Ideate potential brand partnerships to help build the customer base in the US market
Monthly evaluation of the competitive landscape
Frequent collaboration with store operations team and in-store support as necessary
Other duties assigned by manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree - marketing, communications or related field preferred
2 or more years of marketing or related experience
Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and ability to work with multiple teams
Excellent proofreading and editing skills and able to write clear and compelling copy with proper grammar
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, as well as strong written and verbal skills;
Appreciation and understanding of current marketing trends and media landscape
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated, proactive and possess strong work ethic
Experience in and passion for fashion retail industry
Is curious and able to share new ideas to help build and grow the brand strategically
Location & Hours:
Location: SoHo Office
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in office and 2 days remote (schedule adjustment may be required occasionally to support business needs).
