The Institute of Cognitive Science encourages applications for a Temporary Researcher!

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant with a background in Psychology to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our research projects by conducting data pre-processing and analysis, including working with audio data and performing behavioral coding on team interactions.

The mission of the Institute of Cognitive Science (ICS) at CU-Boulder is to understand and enhance human cognition, learning, and development through the creation of interdisciplinary partnerships.

ICS fosters rich scientific interchange across researchers from a broad range of disciplines including Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Philosophy, and Education.

Responsibilities

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Work with audio data, including transcription and coding.
  • Conduct behavioral coding on team interactions using established coding schemes.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of research studies.
  • Collaborate with the research team to interpret and present findings.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation of research activities.

What We Can Offer

The hiring rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.

Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave .

What We Require

  • Experience with data analysis and familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python).
  • Proficiency in handling and analyzing audio data.
  • Strong skills in behavioral coding and familiarity with coding software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
