National Sales Director - CPG Company (B2B Sales)

Job Overview:

 We are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Sales Director to lead our nationwide sales efforts in the tobacco consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. This role focuses on B2B tobacco sales to wholesalers, distributors, and chain retailers such as gas stations and 7-Eleven. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a high-performing sales team from the ground up and driving significant revenue growth across the United States.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve aggressive sales targets and expand market presence.

Team Building and Management: Recruit, train, and lead a nationwide sales team. Foster a high-performance culture and ensure the team meets or exceeds sales goals.

Account Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key wholesalers, distributors, and chain retailers. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify opportunities, monitor industry trends, and stay ahead of competitors. Adjust sales strategies accordingly.

Performance Tracking: Develop and utilize sales metrics and KPIs to track team performance and individual contributions. Provide regular reports to the CEO.

Travel: Travel extensively to meet with key accounts, attend industry events, and support the sales team in the field.

Leadership: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the sales team. Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred but not required.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of sales experience with a focus on the CPG industry B2B sales.

Leadership: Proven track record of building and managing successful sales teams. Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

Sales Acumen: Deep understanding of sales processes, negotiation tactics, and account management. Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively nationwide.
