Executive Director at Sundog Theatre

About Us:

Sundog Theatre, founded in 2002, is a Staten Island-based not-for-profit performing arts organization with an excellent reputation for delivering arts education programs in over 50 schools; offering original and contemporary theatre; touring theatrical productions for young people; and providing acting classes for children. We are team players with the mission to create positive change through the power of live performance and the arts. We seek a qualified, hard-working candidate who can join our dedicated, growing team.

Among its many programs in arts education that include theatre, dance, art, music, cultural heritage, anti-gun violence, and educational/social issue shows, Sundog is also piloting a literacy-based arts integration initiative in Staten Island elementary schools. This program, unique to NYC, is poised to be a model for additional schools that wish to use theatre and the arts to increase literacy scores and make learning more interactive and engaging. With the support of the Dept. of Education, funders, and political officials, Sundog’s program is on track to be at the forefront of this method in NYC. We are looking for someone qualified and invested in ushering in new ways of approaching education through the arts to help change lives through transformational programming. Since Sundog is growing, there is room for advancement within the company as this position will ultimately transition to Arts Education Manager.  www.SundogTheatre.org
