VP, Head of Treasury Strategy (R1895)

We are seeking a Vice President, Head of Treasury Strategy to serve as a senior leader on the Treasury team for our Property and Casualty Insurance and Reinsurance businesses. The position will be based in our Purchase, NY, New York, NY or Morristown, NJ office.


The Head of Treasury Strategy is responsible for managing all the interactions that support the short- and long-term planning of Treasury. Reporting to the Global Treasurer, the incumbent will develop and maintain our collateral and credit management framework in the following locations including the United States, Canada, Bermuda, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, and Asia. The Head of Treasury Strategy will facilitate the process to evaluate strategic transactions for the organization partnering with Business Unit CFOs, Tax, Investments, and ERM, ensuring we are adequately managing our capital and liquidity resources. The incumbent will drive the collateral management process, ensuring we have sufficient resources to satisfy our collateral obligations while minimizing the financial cost to the organization working with Investments, FP&A, Business Unit CFOs, and Business Unit Operations’ team. The incumbent will work closely with our banking partners to establish robust working capital.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transformation towards a globally integrated treasury operational team
  • In partnership with ERM develop and manage the Credit Management process
  • In partnership with other Treasury functions develop and report dashboard KPIs to monitor Treasury globally
  • In partnership with regional treasury functions, and Investments build out working capital programs
  • Support preparation of Board materials, internal stakeholder socialization and alignment conversations for Treasury initiatives
  • Maintain a robust network of Banks that support the Organization’s current and future needs
  • Develop KPIs to evaluate key banking relationships to report to the Global Treasurer, CFO and as needed ELT
  • In partnership with Business Unit CFOs identify opportunities to better utilize Banking products to reduce capital and liquidity requirements
  • In partnership with ERM support Rating Agency considerations for evaluating transactions
  • In partnership with other Treasury functions evaluate Capital and Liquidity impact of prospective transactions
  • Partner with FP&A to develop capital, and rating strategy to meet organizational objectives
  • Act as authorized signatory on bank accounts, as needed
  • Develop and enforce strong internal controls, effective security measures and financial management policies


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related business field
  • MBA or Masters’ degree in Finance or another quantitative subject area preferred; ideally supplemented by a relevant professional certification such as Certified Treasury Professional or CFA
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a senior member of Global Treasury Function in the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Capital Frameworks for Insurance Companies
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets Products available to Insurance Companies
  • High Level understanding of Investment products for an Insurance Company


Salary Range: $140,000– $220,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
