COORDINATOR /GRAPHIC DESIGN

Position Summary

The Graphic Design Coordinator communicates the CMU College of Business Administration (CBA) story through creative digital and print designs for a diverse set of audiences including prospective students, donors, alumni, and the community. This position also oversees and manages the CBA website and is one of the college’s primary staff photographers for all events and promotions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Graphic Design.

One year of experience producing multimedia productions.

Experience with computer graphics tools and still photography.

Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and implement.

Understanding and appreciation for the educational needs of students in Business Administration programs.

Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.

Commitment to excellence and customer service.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Prior experience working for a support organization in a technical capacity.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive attitude.

Ability to performs the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

Digital Signage and Graphic Arts capabilities.

HD video experience.

Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut experience.

Other software experience: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serves as the front-line graphic design technician responsible for the production of all visual communications media for the CBA.

Meets with clients to determine project goals such as creating illustrations, logos, brochures, graphics for web pages, and signage.

Serves as the print production expert with responsibilities over print management, including gathering estimates from vendors, paper selection, discussion of print techniques, pre-press communication, reviews of proofs, and press checks.

Collaborates and communicates with University Communications, Admissions, Advancement, and other appropriate stakeholders to achieve college and university strategic initiatives.

Manages and updates the CBA website, including overseeing and approving departmental communication collaborators.

Oversees and mentors the graphic design student assistant.

Advises internal partners on CMU’s brand and design standards and policies provided by University Communications.

Captures and edits photos of events, guests, and classroom activities.

Collaborates with photographers to art direct, coordinate, and schedule photo shoots.

Assists with marketing projects as needed.

Helps with video production projects as needed.

Assists with social media projects as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.
