CSG Talent have partnered with a key existing food manufacturing client in their search for a senior food scientist who will play a crucial role in new product development & commercialisation activities.



The business are backed by a hugely successful private equity firm, with large growth plans for the next few years. For this to happen, innovation & product development needs to successful within the business which you will play a crucial role in achieving the business's goals in relation to these areas. They operate within the dessert industry & are keen to hire an individual with existing baking experience.



This individual will ensure new items are built and launched successfully, existing items are documented accurately and act as a liaison between Culinary Team, Production, Sales, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain. The Sr. Food Scientist needs to understand the business needs, design, and execute tests, analyze data, draw conclusions, communicate results and commercialize products. Will drive technical projects to meet business initiatives focusing on new product development, quality improvement and cost improvement.



Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement innovative, practical applications and modification of ingredients, formulations, and process.
  • Project leadership in the development of new products, product improvement, and cost savings.
  • Design and execute experiments to make relevant technical recommendations for specific projects.
  • Research and gain thorough understanding and knowledge of emerging technologies in product and ingredient technologies
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams on implementing new products, new equipment or new processes.



Requirements:

  • Existing experience within a scientist/product development role within a baking focused food manufacturing business (essential)
  • Proven track record relation to commercialization of new innovative products, working from conceptualization phase initially.
  • Degree in Food Science / Food Engineering
  • Strong bench work skills with the ability to execute solutions rapidly (DOE).
