Experiential Marketing Account Executive
The Account Executive effectively manages activation programs including but not limited to day-to-day client communication, planning, execution and reporting under the supervision of the Program Manager, Director level and Vice President.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Events | Activation
Manages client events as point person
Actively manages the daily tasks involved with event marketing and oversees event logistics handled by junior staff
Helps Program Manager plan for activation program launches and in market events
Manages program schedules and/or calendars; communicates changes or updates to client
Manages Field Marketing Managers in at least 2 markets but up to 4 markets; including problem solving and staff management, expense approvals and FMM spend tracking
Negotiates and procures venues as necessary
Manages all vendors utilized for in market events
Leads in tandem with PM (when applicable) weekly or bi-weekly FMM calls and communicates/inquires key information to/from field staff
Market travel as needed for audits, trainings, client meetings and other on-site needs
Tracks and reviews field inventory updates with PM and junior staff
Account Management
Helps to maintain daily contact with all clients; may serve as pointperson/day-to-day contact on some occasions
Leads and contributes to most weekly/bi-weekly conference calls, agendas and select client meetings
Staffs all calls, reviews and edits junior staff contributions, and provides call recaps to team and client
Serves as project manager to ensure all deliverables are delivered on time and to the client
Attends select brainstorms and planning sessions
Provides ideas for reporting and program planning documents with team
Writes contingency plans for the client
Plans for client competitor analysis and conducts final edits/review
Assists in the compilation of event recap reports
Creates planning timelines for upcoming event needs and shares with client
Brings trend/industry news to each client’s attention when applicable
Communicates frequent updates to PM, Director/VP level
Writing | Editing
Writes and sends client ready emails
Edits client materials written
Edits all daily, weekly, program end, and custom reports as requested
Does some creation of training materials and editing of materials
Junior Staff Management
Assists managers by proactively communicating with other senior managers as to what you and the team need in order to be successful and takes the initiative to provide status updates and next steps
Acts as a sounding board for junior staff; addresses issues or concerns
Manages and delegates junior staffs’ (MM and below)day-to-day tasks
Provides feedback and edits for junior staff on grammar, e-mails, tone and content for appropriate documents
Provides junior staff with guidance and serves as a mentor and problem solver for their professional growth
Other
Conducts first round account team phone interviews for higher level field candidates or interns
Researches costs for client requests (when necessary)
Helps to submit creative design requests when needed
Agency Contributions
Contributes positively to the culture, atmosphere and values and exudes a positive outlook on his/herteam
- Establishes professional and respectful relationships with staff
WHO YOU ARE
Minimum Requirements:
- You have a minimum 1-2 years’ experience in account management, preferably in a media, performance marketing or direct response capacity
- You can manage multiple projects with short timelines in a fast-paced dynamic environment and experienced in managing projects from concept to completion
- You work well under pressure, while maintaining accuracy, strict confidentiality, and a professional demeanor
- You enjoy interacting with people at all levels of the organization and fostering strong cross-functional teamwork
- You work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually
- You have strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- You are detailed oriented, well organized, and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
- You have a desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- You are self-motivated; inquisitive, proactive & strong initiative (learns/ask questions, applies, grows)
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degreein communications, liberalarts, business or marketing
Experience: Three years of projectmanagement work experience. Experiential marketing experience required. Experience managing others preferred. Experience working at events in the field is a plus.
Skills & Abilities Required
Understands evolution of experiential marketing. Understands client brand category and landscape in order to deliver creative ideas that resonate with target audiences. Must be self-motivated, collaborative and resultsdriven. Solid and growing presentation skills.
Good leadership qualities and proven ability to lead by example. Possesses motivational capabilities in a highly pressurized environment. Is appropriate, approachable and fair, and creates valuedrelationships with staff. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Can meet tight deadlines and has an exceptional eye for details.
