Manage MetaVus online, interactive, digital database operated by Internet Scout, University of Wisconsin used for the Mentor-Connect resource repository. Implement and continuously improve intake and digital collection management system for the Mentor-Connect Resource Repository that uses the METAVUS database (Internet Scout, Univ. of Wisconsin). Continuously improve resource review, cataloging system with titles, names, descriptions, keywords and metadata.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited college or university and appropriate professional library experience.
Preferred Qualifications
The minimum as listed, plus knowledge of and able to reference National Science Foundation (NSF) publications, especially the Proposal and Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG), and current solicitation for the Advanced Technological Education Program (ATE) as well as documents, publications, and multimedia products created by Mentor-Connect, and related mentoring initiatives funded by the NSF ATE Program. Assist with updating and improving keywords for all current resources; collaborate with specialists at Internet Scout to maximize the capabilities of the MetaVUS database platform used for the Resource Repository; knowledge and experience of on-line reference work and automated library systems. Evaluation to include monitoring and reporting Resource Repository usage data, communicating trends in types of materials most- and least-frequently accessed, documenting questions received through the Help Desk; Knowledge of web-based libraries with dynamic, changing content, public library administration and standards of practice for library organization, procedures and services. Knowledge of collection development principles; knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations that are applicable to virtual library administration. Must have knowledge of MetaVUS, the online, interactive, digital database operated by Internet Scout, University of Wisconsin used for the Mentor-Connect Resource Repository.
