Finance at Brex
The Finance team leads financial planning and analysis as well as corporate development, which includes board communications, investor relations, fundraising, and M&A. We strive to be agents of change rather than a reporting function. We’re integrated and partner closely with teams across Brex to evaluate key questions, solve problems, and drive results. Through our corporate development efforts, we are also deeply involved in long-term planning and major strategic decisions for the company.
What You’ll Do
The Treasury team at Brex is responsible for managing Brex’s capital and liquidity needs. As a Director on the Treasury team, you will take a leading role in building and implementing Brex’s treasury and liquidity strategies. You will be directly responsible for managing Brex’s capital, investment, and foreign exchange strategy. Additionally, you will work closely with our Capital Markets team to manage the debt capital and financial partnerships necessary to enable the company’s growth. You will collaborate frequently with the broader Finance team on reporting, modeling, and forecasting. You will also partner internally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Risk on various strategic initiatives and be deeply involved in Brex’s long-term product planning.
Responsibilities
Build and implement Brex’s treasury management and operations strategy
Manage Brex’s cash position and investment strategy; fully own the reporting of our liquidity position to Brex’s Leadership team, and the modeling and forecasting of Brex’s capital and capital needs
Create, implement, and manage Brex’s FX strategy and directly contribute to our global expansion
Identify, structure, and implement ways to optimize Brex’s balance sheet and funding strategies by working closely with the Capital Markets team and developing a deep understanding of our financing facilities
Lead cross-functional partners with strategic initiatives, and new product development
Collaborate with Finance, Product, and other teams within Brex to implement an efficient, scalable, and sustainable treasury and liquidity strategy across all products and initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, STEM, or a related field
8+ years of treasury-related experience, preferably at a fintech
Experience leading interactions and negotiations with global banks, and counterparties, and managing FX risk
Ability to develop and manage complex financial models independently and to work and analyze large data sets
Excellent work ethic, self-starter attitude, and willingness to contribute beyond the prescribed role to achieve the company objectives
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven success in partnering and leading collaboration across various functions and with external counterparts
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively and independently
Strong verbal and written communication, quantitative, and analytical skills
Comfortable interacting with internal and external C-suite executives
Experience working with lending products, and a basic understanding of ABS financing dynamics
Bonus points
Experience working with Kyriba
Familiarity with business intelligence databases (i.e. Looker)
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $232,000 - $290,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
