Asset Management Analyst

The Asset Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the investment team; both individual investments and the overall portfolio. This role involves a deep understanding of investment principles, taking initiative, and leading certain tasks. Regular interaction with senior investment team members is expected to contribute to portfolio decisions and enhance investment knowledge. The role includes managerial responsibilities and overseeing direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Asset Management team in the ongoing management and analysis of the company's portfolio of single-family residential properties.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel models for asset and portfolio performance analysis, including forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Prepare and present periodic and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company guidelines and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including acquisitions, finance, property management, and marketing, to gather data and insights for asset analysis.
  • Conduct market research and stay current on industry trends to inform asset and portfolio management strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of asset management plans, including identifying opportunities for optimization and value enhancement.
  • Participate in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, providing input on asset valuation, underwriting, and risk assessment.
  • Continuously improve analytical tools, processes, and methodologies to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the asset management function.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.

(A Master's degree is a plus)

  • 2-4 years of experience in asset management, financial analysis, or a similar role, preferably within the single-family residential or real estate industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to develop complex financial models, pivot tables, and macros from scratch.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize large datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of property management, leasing, and marketing concepts, as well as an understanding of the single-family residential market and relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage) is a plus.
