JOB SNAPSHOT:

The Project Engineer’s primary responsibilities are to assist the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager(s) and Site Manager(s) in all aspects of the construction projects including but not limited to, staff development, development of bid packages and specifications, coordination of shop drawings, submittal review and submissions, expediting material deliveries, assisting with project cost accounting, processing owner and subcontractor billings, as well as periodic project site visits. As a Project Engineer, you will be trained to successfully negotiate subcontracts and change orders and effectively direct the project administration's daily activities to ensure proper project support is being maintained.

JOB LOCATION: Energetic Downtown Fishers, IN

RESPONSIBILITY

• Preparing contracts and scopes of work under the direction of Project Management.
• Reviewing subcontractors' initial submitted schedule of values for validity.
• Negotiate and review prospective change orders for proper scope and valid cost alterations.
• Scheduling updates, inclusive of posting and distribution.
• Planning, organizing, and coordinating construction activities.
• Maintaining and updating cost tracking reports for review with management to ensure adherence to project control procedures.
• Investigating construction site issues, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
• Maintain subcontractor start-up, product data, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Maintain Procore for tracking approved change order requests.
• Keep track of budget costs including buyout costs, contingency and its usage as well as GMP adjustments.
• Tracking issuance and review of shop drawing submittals to ensure timely coordination with all parties.
• Attend construction and design meetings, as requested, documenting and publishing meeting minutes.
• Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
• Order temporary construction equipment and materials such as job site trailers, temporary sanitary facilities, electric meters, project signage, Federal/State required signage, etc.
• Continually encourage others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to problems and opportunities.
• Become familiar with contract types, general condition requirements, and potential flow-down language.
• Attend constructability and coordination reviews.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• BS in Building Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field.
• Must have a minimum of (3) three years’ experience in a construction environment.
• Experience working in a Project Coordinator and/or Project Engineer role is preferred.
• Thorough experience with Gmail, Google Drive, and various Google Apps is required; being familiar with Project Management software applications like Procore and PDF annotation is required. Familiarity with Procore is a plus.
