Position Title: Principal

Team members work on-site with our clients, and unlike big box firms that like to coach from the sidelines, “get on the field” with our clients to help them increase their competitive edge. Base salary ranges from $125,000 USD to $150,000 USD with bonus potential up to 75% of base salary. The base salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and expertise.

Experience

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 15+ years of diverse work experience as a manager within one or more of the following disciplines: Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Factory Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Quality Engineering
  • Minimum 10+ years of business development and relevant industry experience
  • Experience working within the consulting industry for major consulting firm in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience selling services to C-suite and/or executive level.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering
  • Ability to articulate solutions to clients at all organizational levels
  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions addressing client needs
  • Strong communication skills in oral, written, and presentation formats

Desired Experience (Not Required):

  • Previous experience in operational management consulting or related professional services industries
  • Proven experience in coaching problem-solving skills (quantitative, conceptual, analytical)
  • Proven ability to deliver results through influential leadership vs. positional power
  • Experience with CRM software, particularly Salesforce Attributes
  • Leadership: Leads senior project teams in fast-paced environments, inspiring them to consistently achieve targets
  • Strategic Vision: Develops and executes successful strategies for growth and achievement
  • Relationship Building: Fosters teamwork and engagement with both internal and client team members, nurturing connections with clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Negotiation Skills: Maximizes profitability and secures beneficial partnerships through adept negotiation, while actively listening to understand needs
  • Passion for Coaching: Coaches others to overcome challenges using their knowledge and skills
  • Polished Presenter and Facilitator: Recognized for strong communication and collaboration, excelling in presentations and facilitation to ensure effective communication

Essential Job Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Proactively prospect and engage potential clients, while supporting sales efforts to build and maintain client relationships through exceptional delivery performance
  • Develop business proposals, SOWs, and other reports
  • Meet gross revenue and margin targets to ensure profitability alignment
  • Direct strategic initiatives for lead generation, revenue growth, and vertical expansion
  • Implement comprehensive sales plans and leverage personal networks to secure meetings
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and implement innovative sales techniques

Case Management

  • Plan and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to define project scope, budget, and timelines
  • Drive project success from inception to delivery by overseeing team scoping, staffing, execution and risk mitigation
  • Maintain frequent client communications, visits, and customer satisfaction
  • Provide support to teams and guide efforts to deliver strategic and sustainable solutions

Internal Firm Building

  • Engage in internal training initiatives to enhance skills and contribute to a culture of continuous learning
  • Develop intellectual capital to build the company brand (i.e. technology, white papers, networking)
  • Continuously work to develop, document, and improve the company business processes and our approach and output for client casework
  • Participate in annual business planning and internal project execution
  • Participate in vetting of candidates seeking to join the company's Core Team or Advisory Network

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, or equivalent years of work experience; MBA is preferred

Employment Type

  • Full-Time, Salary + Bonus (based on a pay-for-performance structure)
  • Position requires 90% travel: 4 - 5 days per week, minimum 18 days per month
  • Physical demands require computer work, standing, sitting in an office and manufacturing plant environment, walking manufacturing plant floor multiple times daily required
