Responsibilities:
Developing, recommending, and implementing payroll policies and system enhancements to improve departmental processes.
Analyzing complex transactions, identifying issues, assessing risks, and working with internal teams to implement plans for resolution and prevention of future occurrences.
Managing operations related to absence management and time tracking, including training and updates for relevant personnel.
Interacting with various departments/timekeepers to verify accuracy of time and attendance data using the Workday system and ensuring protocol compliance.
Ensuring timely communication of changes to payroll policies, systems, and regulations to employees and customers.
Maintaining knowledge of and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal wage laws and reporting requirements.
Establishing internal controls to maintain integrity of personnel and payroll data in internal and external systems.
Directly supervising the payroll team, providing training and evaluation to enhance performance, development, and work product, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
Overseeing weekly, monthly, and year-end payroll processes to meet deadlines and goals, including uploading data to the payroll system and verifying accuracy.
Participating in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
