Walk me through the day-to-day responsibilities of this the role and a description of the project (Outside of Workday JD):
- The Pharmacy Technician will perform duties reviewing coverage for medications under the medical benefits for Medicare, Medicaid, and Exchange plans
- Track and triage coverage determination requests submitted from providers and determine if a pharmacist review is required
- Make case decisions based on defined criteria
- Collaborate with Pharmacists, Medical Directors and vendors to obtain verbal authorizations and/or coverage determination reviews
- Communicate directly with the providers, to clarifying basic information on the request or missing clinical criteria
- Notify providers and members of coverage determination request decisions
- This role directly impacts members, as working these cases incorrectly would prevent the members from receiving their treatment timely
- High School Diploma.
- Pharmacy Technician
- Current state’s Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license preferred
