Manager, Family & Community Engagement Responsibilities
The Family and Community Engagement Manager is responsible for assisting the Engagement Center Director in the planning, monitoring, and implementation of services and compliance for Unique Populations. Under the direction of the Engagement Center Director, this position also oversees the day-to-day operation of the district resource center and provides guidance and support to staff within the Family and Community Engagement line of authority for both department and campus staff.

The Family and Community Engagement Manager is responsible for assisting the Engagement Center Director in the planning, monitoring, and implementation of services and compliance for Unique Populations. Under the direction of the Engagement Center Director, this position also oversees the day-to-day operation of the district resource center and provides guidance and support to staff within the Family and Community Engagement line of authority for both department and campus staff.
Family And Community Engagement Manager Responsibilities
- In coordination with the Engagement Center Director, provide supervisory support to staff in regard to professional development, coaching, and performance reviews (auditing/monitoring).
- Assists in planning and facilitating Family and Community Engagement staff meetings, trainings, and events.
- Conducts audits related to Synergy documentation, intake forms, database, and Unique Populations data and provides appropriate feedback to staff.
- Meets with appropriate staff to ensure compliance with ESSA, Title 1, and AzEDS data.
- Plan and implement parent engagement strategies, such as Parent University, Parent Site Council, WeGrad, etc. as a districtwide Title 1 parent initiative.
- Assists in the implementation and coordination of parent involvement and trainings for parents/guardians representing Unique Populations (Homeless, Migrant, Foster, Refugee, etc.)

Major Duties
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement best and innovative programs and practices for the purpose of student achievement.
- Accomplishes team and program results by communicating expectations, providing support, managing the results, and managing the day-to-day functions of the team and/or program.
- Establishes team and program goals aligned to the District’s strategic direction by gathering pertinent information, evaluating trends and options, recommending system improvements, and choosing a course of action.
- Develops and provides professional development, and reinforces expectations of quality customer service using established customer service standards.
- Effectively communicates in writing and verbally with all stakeholders: district/site leaders, teachers, support staff, parents, students, and community.
- Provides guidance and assistance to campuses and departments to achieve goals and desired outcomes.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
- Assists in recruiting, selecting, orienting, evaluating, and training employees.
- Plans and maintains program and/or team budgets within budgetary parameters.
- Complete other related duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or education support related field, or an equivalent.
- Five years as a classroom teacher preferred for academic manager positions or five years in an education support related field for non-academic manager positions preferred.
- Experience in supervision preferred.
- Experience in technical writing preferred (i.e.: End User Guides, Curriculum Related Materials, Manuals).
- Knowledge of school personnel policies and procedures.
