Editorial Writer & Social Media Assistant

An online news platform is looking for an Editorial Writer with social media experience to join the team on a part-time, ongoing contract that could potentially lead to a direct hire!

The ideal candidate is skilled in Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and TikTok, and familiar with Google Analytics and SEO. They have newsroom experience, understand Reddit, and can manage workflow, proofread, update content, coordinate submissions, verify permissions, assist with newsletters and live events, and handle agendas and meetings.

PAY: $25 - $28/hr

Responsibilities:

• Support the publishing team in creating newsletters.
• Maintain the workflow pipeline using Google Docs, Google Folders, and Asana calendar.
• Proofread various content.
• Facilitate workflow and collaborate with the publishing coordinator, executive editors, and copy editors. Ensure efficient posting.
• Keep the home page fresh with a variety of content.
• Verify that TD has permissions for posting or reposting before publishing any item.
• Identify quality material from content partners for submission to executive editors.
• Layout and upload content to the website throughout the day.
• Help coordinate incoming submissions.
• Inform TD team members of the pipeline status.
• Assist with live events.
• Update agendas and schedule meetings.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Google Analytics and other data tools is desirable.
• Proficiency in using Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and TikTok is required.
• Experience in a newsroom and a keen sense of news are advantageous.
• Familiarity with SEO is beneficial.
• Awareness of Reddit and its community is an added advantage.
