GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide direct and general supervision to the Field Services department in accordance with established polices and procedures. Manage daily operations; plan the use of materials and staffing assets. Formulate management strategies and contingency plans for the evolving needs of the field services department. Develop, motivate, and audit your staff while establishing an effective team. Develop and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with PSEG management and employees. Maintain the highest standards of customer service while effectively managing customer’s complaints, concerns, and referrals.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage subordinates, allocate tasks, inventory, and resources as needed
Maintain fleet vehicles to be clean and serviceable at all times
Manage day-to–day operations while prioritizing and controlling tasks simultaneously
Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments/rotations, employee training, and employee vacations, employee breaks, back up for absent employees.
Develop and maintain relationships with PSEG’s employees to promote coordination within a team structure
Conduct staff meetings safety tailgates
Correspond with PSEG’s employees and management to quickly resolve issues and promote cooperation within a team structure
Conduct field audits and safety inspections
Train and evaluate knowledge and comprehension of all policy and procedures
Maintain tool and supply inventories
Ability to satisfactorily pass all required covered task and OQ testing.
Other Required Duties And Responsibilities
Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Proficiency with routing and navigation within the client service area.
Prepare a variety of operational reports related to gas/electric meter activities.
Ability to understand, comprehend, and comply with all industry standards and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIERMENTS: THE ABILITY TO
Walk several miles a day.
Lift 25 to 50 pounds occasionally.
Move safely over uneven terrain and in confined spaces.
See and respond to dangerous situations.
Work in extreme weather conditions
Education/ Experience Requirements
High school / GED required.
A minimum of five years of experience in Residential/ Commercial Electric and/or Plumbing experience preferred.
Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
