Job Summary:

The LIC Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational coordination of the assigned program. The Coordinator will provide administrative management of the LIC activities including but not limited to student and faculty scheduling, oversight of timely evaluations and assessments, coordination with administrative staff at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and within each department at the LIC clinical site/s, clerical support to the LIC director and department liaisons, availability to receive students’ questions, schedule conflicts, and other needs and to refer to the appropriate individual.

The coordinator position will be hired to support the Longmont/Boulder LIC program.

Supervision Received: This position reports to the Clerkship Curriculum Manager in the Office of Medical Education.

Supervision Exercised: No direct supervision. While there is no direct supervision, the individual in this role must be able to influence and implement initiatives without direct reporting structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist LIC director(s) and other faculty in planning the year-long schedule of students’ ambulatory clinical placements, inpatient experiences, on-call experiences, didactics, and assessments.
  • Coordinate and schedule student and faculty clinical experiences monthly and distribute schedule and updates accordingly ensuring appropriate communication is given as conflicts and changes arise.
  • Track and record student progression, requirements, assessments, and grades.
  • Support exam administration ensuring appropriate proctoring and distribution of student assessments throughout the year.
  • Participate in course management by managing the LIC Canvas website, including updating course materials and arrangement of online quizzes and exams.
  • Support the organization of student activities at clinical sites, including call rooms, scrub access, IT access and badging, parking, pagers, etc.
  • Liaise with administrative staff at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and within each department and provide clerical support to the LIC director(s) and department liaisons.
  • Assist students and faculty with the use of the online evaluation systems and track completion of required evaluations.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of two (2) days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of professional related experience which includes operational coordination of an academic program.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience within an academic medical environment.
  • Experience working with learning management systems (i.e. Canvas, OASIS).
  • Experience with curriculum management and coordination.
  • Experience developing spreadsheets and databases for reporting and tracking purposes
  • Relevant work experience: coordinating and managing education programs, preferably in the medical field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and works efficiently
  • Able to work collaboratively with a large group of individuals
  • Able to works independently without direct supervision
  • Proficiency with MS Office products as well as aptitude to develop additional computer skills rapidly.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Excel
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and efficient, with attention to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills by email and in person.
  • Ability to align multiple, competing demands with established priorities, and enjoy the challenges of change.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,961 - $67,367.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
