Lawelawe Defense Inc. is renowned for its comprehensive support to the US Army Human Resources Command (HRC), focusing on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of personnel management and human resources operations. We are seeking a Technical Editor to join our dynamic team;
Role and Responsibilities:
Play a crucial role in creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports our products and services.
Responsible for content of technical documentation.
Check author's document for spelling, grammar, and content problems (e.g., missing instructions or sections; redundant or unnecessary sections).
Accuracy of content may fall under this position or the programmer, depending on the expertise of the editor.
Ensure that documents follow the style laid out in the organization's style guide.
May also be responsible for maintaining the style guide.
Suggest revisions to the style guide as appropriate
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; Collaborating with programmers, other team members, and stakeholders, as well as for suggesting and implementing revisions to the style guide.
Attention to detail; Essential for reviewing documents for spelling, grammar, and content accuracy, ensuring all documentation meets high standards.
Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, maintain the style guide, and keep track of revisions and updates systematically.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with team members and other stakeholders, facilitating smooth communication and collaboration.
Proficiency in creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, ensuring clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
Experience with document management and version control systems, ensuring proper documentation tracking and updates.
Familiarity with CMS platforms used for managing and publishing technical documents.
Capacity to work with others in a high-functioning collaborative and innovative environment
Requirements:
Minimum of 15+ years experience in a matrixed, high-functioning environment workingas a Technical Editor or similar; experience must be coupled with a Bachelor of Arts or Science in a related field; 10+ years experience with a Master of Arts or Science in a related field preferred
Active Secret clearance required
Must be a US Citizen
