Job Description

Broad Function and Purpose of Position: Direct the planning, coordination, and execution of sales programs for Asian Automotive OEM and Tier accounts; insure sales activities are consistent with and meet the Automotive Unit’s sales, growth, margin, and profit objectives; develop and optimize opportunities for growth; support Program Management directly and through Key Account managers.

Specific Responsibilities

  • With VP of Sales, develop annual and three-year strategic sales plans for Asian OEM customer accounts in accordance with the Automotive Unit’s sales and profit objectives; assist in the development of annual budget and action plans for assigned accounts; recommend and execute agreed-upon sales strategy and marketing plan/programs according to annual budget and three year plan to meet sales, growth, margin and profit objectives.
  • Recommend and implement opportunities for growth through new products in existing markets, existing products in new markets, and new products in new markets
  • Achieve sales goals, C2 objectives and growth objectives on an annual basis for assigned accounts based on coordinated and targeted action plans, pricing, and product mix strategies, and effective control of sales expense budgets
  • Manage and implement sales activities to achieve sales and profit objectives in assigned accounts
  • Assist marketing in developing marketing plans and strategies for assigned accounts
  • Provide input to and assist with marketing plans and development of new product concepts
  • Recommend, develop, and communicate sales policies and procedures to sales personnel
  • Manage employee performance planning and review process for assigned sales personnel; identify and provide opportunities for personal career growth planning and development
  • Participate in developing and measuring the effectiveness of marketing programs for new and existing products, as well as new and existing applications
  • Insure effective management and resolution of issues related to customer service responsibilities, including invoicing, re-bills, debits/credits, customer response effectiveness, etc.; act as a resource in identifying and resolving issues
  • Establish and maintain key industry contacts and trade relations
  • Manage, develop, and motivate assigned Key Account Managers in day-to-day sales activities to achieve budgeted expense in assigned accounts and to prepare them to assume higher level sales responsibilities
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients
  • Perform special projects and other duties as required by the VP of Sales

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in business or engineering field
  • Seven to ten years of progressively responsible sales experience in which the candidate must have demonstrated a proven track record in achieving specific goals
  • Three to five years in managerial positions directly within the Asian automotive OEM market
  • Must have proven record of creativity, innovation, sales growth, and significant achievement
