About The Position

Employee Relations - Develops, monitors, and promotes fair treatment procedures and provides information and advice to line managers or individuals regarding grievance procedures and disciplinary action. Assists with the development and implementation of verbal and written communications to employees. Coordinates organization strategies relating to labor relations activities.

  • Develops and updates organizational policies for the workforce that is compliant with state and federal regulation.
  • Remains attuned to employee attitudes. Conducts employee surveys as needed.
  • Directs the disciplinary action process and works with supervisors to carry this out according to policy and sound practice. Logs all corrective action for audit purposes and trending.
  • Provides coaching to employees requesting or needing assistance.
  • Responds to State or Federal inquiries regarding EEOC or unemployment claims.
  • Oversees the performance appraisal process. Supervises the HR Generalist who maintains the appraisal database.
  • Oversees employee rewards including the employee service recognition process.
  • Continually evaluates hospital retention and turnover.

Compensation Administration - Oversees and directs the organization's compensation programs including job evaluation, salary design and structuring, wage surveys, and compliance with EEOC and wage and hour laws.

  • Participates in salary surveys, analyzes data and recommends changes to maintain the integrity of the wage and salary structure.
  • Perform job evaluation to determine ranking of each position.
  • Supervises the HR Generalist who oversees the creation and updating of job descriptions.
  • Approves job offers and performs internal compression analysis as needed.

Benefit Administration - Oversees and directs competitive practices on all indirect remuneration including the cost and utilization of existing fringe benefits and the design and implementation of new benefit programs. The employee leave of absence process is managed as a benefit program.

  • Recommends a blend of benefit programs to retain competitive practices.
  • Issues RFPs and negotiates benefit contracts.
  • Serves as Plan Administrator for the various benefit plans which are subject to ERISA. Files annual reports to the IRS/DOL as required.
  • Updates plan documents and prepares amendments for approval.
  • Serves as an active member of the Benefit Committee.
  • Oversees the performance of contracted TPA’s.

Recruitment - Oversees and directs appropriate strategies for recruitment and selection of all employees including strategic planning and staffing needs, advertising, recruitment, and the hiring process.

  • Supervises the HR Generalist and/or HR Assistant who coordinates the recruitment of qualified individuals.
  • Oversees the onboarding process by supervising the HR Technician who works directly with the new hire.

Oversees department staff to support department operations.

  • Interviews and hires staff that supports our culture.
  • Oversees department training and orientation.
  • Evaluates staff within the appropriate time period.
  • Addresses employee relations issues according to policy.
  • Addresses staff turnover and utilizes retention strategies.
  • Maintains an excellent department safety record.

Oversees financial performance of department.

  • Prepares and monitors budgets.
  • Forecasts revenue and estimates expenses.
  • Monitors monthly budget reports. Provides monthly variance reports.
  • Measures and evaluates departmental productivity.

Manages opportunities for performance improvement.

  • Identifies opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Works with others to develop a plan of action.
  • Implements changes and monitors results by submitting timely reports to the performance improvement committee.

Community involvement.

  • Attends community gatherings and vents on behalf of the organization.
  • Assist exiting partners and initiate discussion with potential partners, collaborating with others to create strategic plan.
  • Serve as a representative for the facility, acting as an ambassador.

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • 5 years in a Human Resource setting.

Preferred

  • Healthcare Administrative experience.
  • 3 years of Leadership.
  • Organization Development experience.
