Location: La Porte, Texas

Summary

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the construction industry, proficiency in reading blueprints and performing takeoffs. Primary focus will be providing accurate cost estimates for petrochemical and pipeline projects.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating and blueprint reading.
• Required knowledge of spreadsheet (Excel) and word processing (Word) software, PowerPoint, and Primavera Project Planner (P3 and P6).
• Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• NCCER
• Current electrical/state license required.
• TWIC required.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License with minimal infractions.

Essential Functions

• Attend start up meetings and visit job site as necessary.
• Prepare material takeoffs from project drawings and plans.
• Review contractual documents to determine scope of work and changes that affect projects.
• Prepare task estimates, including rate and unit cost determination.
• Evaluate accuracy of estimates and propose changes.
• Record and analyze cost data to ensure proper estimating standards.
• Prepare project kickoff packages for field supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 5-25 pounds frequently and ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Must be able to work in constant change in weather and site conditions.
