We are excited to welcome a passionate and qualified Sign Language Interpreter Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the school year. This fully remote position focuses on providing instructional support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. We are looking for someone proficient in American Sign Language with excellent communication and teaching skills.

Key Responsibilities

Interpretation Services: Provide sign language interpretation during virtual classes, meetings, and other educational activities.

Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers and other educators to facilitate communication and support the learning needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Instructional Support: Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and relevant stakeholders.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and communication assignments.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Sign Language Interpretation, or a related field.

Certification: Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or an equivalent credential.

Proficiency: Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a deep understanding of deaf culture and communication methods.

Experience: Preferably, experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent ability to establish rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Technical Comfort: Comfortable using technology for remote instruction and communication.

Licensure: Active licensure in the state of Washington.
