Under the general guidance of the Foundation Manager, this position assists in implementing strategy, promotion, and operations of the Cal Coast Cares Foundation, its programs, events, and donor relations. Also Collaborates with the Financial Education and School Partnerships Manager to build relationships with local schools and colleges to increase the foundation’s brand awareness and the credit union’s membership growth. Contributes to the execution of community relations activities.


DIMENSIONS

Implement foundation strategies and Credit Union brand reputation

Assist in the foundation’s scholarship and educator grant applications process and disbursement

Manage reports and program operations of foundation

Represent credit union at education and outreach events including, targeted tabling, presentations, CR community activities and workshops

Track employee giving to the foundation

Develop communications and maintain distribution lists for the foundation

Assist in planning and implementation of major fundraisers and activities

Provide administrative and back office support

Supervisory responsibilities

  • This position reports directly to the Foundation Manager. There are no direct reports to this position.


NATURE & SCOPE

  • Responsible for implementing annual strategic plan and goals for the foundation.
  • Builds and deepens relationships in the educational, non-profit, and business communities by recommending, developing, and implementing related programs approved.
  • Manages various aspects of the foundation’s student scholarship and educator grant programs, including the application and selection process and related communications.
  • Provides periodic reports regarding results.
  • Contributes to and supports major events for the credit union.
  • Collaborates and works closely with the Community Relations, Marketing, Public Relations and Business Development team on foundation, school, college, and community programs. Provides support for credit union volunteer events and community outreach activities.
  • Create communications to donors, employees, sponsors, and other key audiences. Collaborate with internal marketing and public relations partners on foundation branding and promotional materials.
  • Researches issues and identifies resolutions which could negatively impact the foundation’s or credit union’s image.
  • Performs other relevant and related duties as required.

Other Education, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience.
  • At least two years of work in community relations, public relations, or marketing setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with donor management software or database tools a plus.
  • Working knowledge of financial industry products, services and industry trends preferred.
  • Ability to operate standard business machines such as computer, printer, fax, copier and telephonic devices.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle: requires valid California Drives License and a clean DMV record


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Implements strategic plans and annual goals for the foundation.
  • Manages various aspects of the foundation’s student scholarship and educator grant programs, including the application and selection process and related communications.
  • Implements operational enhancements and efficiencies to the programs.
  • Executes special events including foundation fundraising events. Also, collaborates with the Community Relations team to support community outreach and events.
  • Create ongoing communications to donors, employees, sponsors, and other key audiences. Collaborate with internal marketing and public relations partners on foundation branding and promotional materials.
  • Assists in department’s public relations efforts including branch grand openings, special events, educational and community involvement
  • Works a flexible schedule including weekends, day, and evening hours.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Excellent ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to tolerate periods of continuous standing during various times. Can operate and utilize a personal computer, phone and peripherals.
  • May be required to show proof of current, valid driver’s license, and current Department of Motor Vehicle record.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS


  • Work may be primarily performed outside the office with extensive local business travel required. Will frequently be required to attend events in evenings or on weekends. Subject to standard background noise found in an office environment and during travel time, subject to variable weather and traffic conditions.
