Description
Primary Medical Assistant duties will include but are not limited to:

Primary Medical Assistant duties will include but are not limited to:
- Preparing and maintaining exam rooms in a clean and orderly manner
- Taking patient chief complaints
- Perform vitals for a patient
- Enter patient histories, demographics, medications, etc.
- Assisting physicians with a wide range of tasks that are related to patient care
- Contacting pharmacies with new medication and/or order changes as directed
- Giving vaccinations/injections, performing vision tests, audiograms, venipuncture, and EKG’s
- Obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic exams and referrals
- Scheduling diagnostic exams
- Greeting patients in a friendly, professional manner
- Monitoring Patients Quality Metrics Data via Electronic Health Record and Pursuit Lists
- Scheduling appointments
- Answering phones
- Check-out patients and provide future orders
- At least one year experience as a medical assistant/receptionist preferably in a Family Medicine setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Electronic Medical Records proficiency, Cerner preferred
- The ability to perform venipuncture
- The desire to work in a fast pace environment
- The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing
- Overall team player
- A High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Medical Assistant Certificate
- A valid CPR card
