I am sorry to hear of the damage to Garth Mountain, and respect the need to put up a sign; however, I have seen references in at least two professional land surveying journals (I work for a surveying company) saying that the film's writer and director Christopher Monger was born in Taff’s Well and had heard the story from his grandfather and other villagers, that there was a similar event which actually took place in the area during World War I. I've included links to the two surveying articles. http://www.surveyhistory.org/englishman_who_went_up_a_hill.htm http://www.profsurv.com/archive.php?issue=25&article=331 207.119.155.121 02:13, 23 June 2007 (UTC) C. I've split the article into sections, on the hill (mountain) itself, and on the book (and its consequences). And I've changed the header to reflect this. I hope that's OK with everyone. Moonraker12 (talk) 14:37, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
