Legislative Committees |
Consent Calendars As Legislative Committees deliberate their assigned petitions, there may be proposals for which no plenary debate is recommended. These go to the floor as consent calendar items. There are three consent calendars:
Items can be placed on the consent calendar if no more than five votes were cast against the prevailing position, it has no financial implications, and the proposal does not require a constitutional amendment. Consent Calendars are numbered sequentially. The first day is A01, second day is A02, etc. These documents require Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click on the button below to download.
Members of Legislative Committees The legislative committees of the General Conference will meet in the Convention Center. Media representatives may attend but space in some will be limited. Names of people serving on each legislative committee can be found in the advance edition of the Daily Christian Advocate. The committees review, sort and refine legislative proposals. No action is final until taken by the General Conference in plenary session. Progress reports from each committee are posted in the News Room each evening and will appear in the next day's issue of the Daily Christian Advocate. Ten legislative committees are being proposed by the Committee on Plan of Organization and Rules. (UMNS release # 332) The committee is recommending that the CPT report be presented to all the delegates on Wednesday, May 3.
