Flood & Snow & Grands

Friday came the flood.

Saturday, the snow.

And the snow was gorgeous.

I guess snow is my favorite!!!

Dog's first snow!!!

Dog's first flood!!!!

The Cows first snow too!

Oh I enjoyed watching the birds out my window so much!

I think we ended up with 3 1/2 inches!

Dog is so brave when there is a gate
or fence between her and the cows!!

Oh how we love our home!!!
Welcome to the Farm!

The closest thing to a selfie you will see from me!!!

I put meal worms in my flower baskets in the winter!
This one was looking for them in the snow!!!

This is my deer feeder!
Sweet Hunter asked me what I wanted for my birthday
and I told him a deer feeder!
He said, "That will work!"
Luckily he asked our friend Markus to come help move it up in the yard
before the flood came!
They almost didn't put it high enough!!!

When it snows, I love to take pics!!!

Can you tell??

More of the flood.

This is actually the road in front of our house.
We live on a dead end.

Look at all the black birds!!
They came flying in all at once.
I was so afraid they would find my feeders but
they flew out as fast as they flew in
after they found some food.

Two more of our Grands!
Davis & Asher

They are growing up so fast!
D is 11 years old!!!
A is 8 years old!!!!

This is our most recent calf!!!!
Donnie Boy & Mommy!
3 months old!!!

This is a big bird bath that is up in the yard.
Look how high the water is!!!

The Porch At The Farm

This is the Before.

So Sweet Hunter wanted a porch instead of the steps.
I didn't think much of it because I liked it this way.
 This is the door
on the side of the house going into the kitchen.
I think it looks good, don't you?

You see, the truth is, I have wanted a big screened in porch on the back of the house
for quite a while, even before I got sick.
So I will admit I was a little disappointed getting this first.
But what Sweet Hunter wants, Sweet Hunter gets!
(Smile)
So here they go tearing the old steps out.

And little by little it was becoming a small porch.
Our carpenter called and had a day or two so he came
 and did this pretty quick.
Truth be known Sweet Hunter did it for me.
I love him!
And he always knows best.

This is the After.
So here it is all finished!
Looks pretty good doesn't it?
And he even put a hook on the porch so
when we bring groceries in we can hook it
so the screen door will stay open.
I thought that was so smart.
So I guess in the end, I have to admit, he did good again!
I will decorate it with some with plants and maybe a chair when
warmer weather comes.
Next, will be the big screened in porch I've always dreamed of.
I'm excited!  It will probably be spring
before we get started on it.
I have it all planned out.

Be Blessed,
Val

A Beautiful Day

I spent most of  the day with my Mom!!!
Sweet Hunter had to go back to work so it was our day!

Whenever we can we get together and sew.
It's hard for me to do it in the Summer because of the garden,
but winter is my rest time.

My Mom is a great seamstress and quilter!
But today we had lunch and went to Hobby Lobby to
spend my gift card that she gave me for Christmas!
I mean.....really......what gift could be any better than that!

This is an apron we started last time we got together.
I thought we would work on that but I had bought fabric to
make me some Pajama pants so we cut those out.
Now I'm in the sewing mood!

Mom & I are best friends!
When we get together.....just the two of us,
we just have a ball!
I hope to have more days like this soon!
Thank you Mom!

And this is what was waiting on me when I got home!!!
To say they were excited to see me is an understatement.
(smile)

I try to only leave the farm one day a week because
there is always so much work to do
when I get back and today was no different.
I got home around
3 this afternoon and worked until dark.
Today I added more hay to the coops and the runs.
We've had so much rain everything was sopping wet!

Lily is learning to ride in the Gator with me.
Even though she is a big dog, she's not even 10 weeks yet.
When I let her out all my chicken family decided it was
their turn to ride!!

The guineas were so happy to see me they flew up on the chicken coop
and sang me the most beautiful song!!!!
It went something like this.....
"Oh where oh where have you been,
We've missed you so!!!
Now give us our corn!!!!!"

The chickens were so happy to see me!
They love the cabbage leaves I give them!
This is "Rooster" & his gals!!!
It's so funny.
When there is something to eat he calls his girls over
and makes sure they eat before he does!
************************
Well, today was a beautiful day but
tomorrow I have to get all the coops
prepared for the cold weather coming
this weekend!
A farmers work is never done!
