Many of you know this blog, Our farm, "The Little House on the Lake"
 my "Sweet Hunter"
along with our family is my heart!
Facebook is quick and easy and has its place but this is where my heart is.
I have blogged since 2007.

I had to quit the "cancer" posts for a while.
It was getting to me.
I am sure it will pop up in my post here and
there but I just can't.......
anymore.

We  had a beautiful weekend this past weekend at the "Little House!"
It rained over 24 hours so we spent some good quality time inside.
We rested, we spent time together, we watched some t.v., put a puzzle together
and cooked!
Imagine that right?
Cooking?
(Smile)

We also went fishing the next day when the weather was good!
Of course, he won!
I bet he caught 12-15 Crappie!
He was loving it.

This is the only fish I caught!
Yep!
I just knew I would win, but I didn't.
Oh well, next time!
Now you may look at me and think I feel great,
but I will tell you a little secret.
I honestly didn't feel wonderful.
Maybe I rested too much.
I don't know. But something caused my back to act up.
But I kept going. Then we got ready to go.
I knew I didn't feel good but I thought it would pass.
I actually woke up with it Sunday morning and it continued to get worse.
Today, Monday, we are home and I have not done much at all.
I have did a little laundry and warmed up some leftovers but
I felt like I needed to rest.

Today I put this quote on my facebook page and it is so true.
“Life is amazing. And then it's awful. And then it's amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it's ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That's just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it's breathtakingly beautiful.”

Food For Baby Shower

There were about 8 of us that helped with this baby shower for our friend LeAnda.
It's a boy!!!
I thought you would enjoy seeing the food that everyone
brought.  The food was as pretty as the decorations.

See those cute stars???

So pretty.

I  just loved all of this fruit.

I am not sure if my friend Jo cut this fruit up herself or had it done
but it really didn't matter. It was so good and so beautiful.
She had 2 different dips to go with it.  Yum.

"Big Sis" fixed this beautiful vegetable tray with dip.
So delicious.

I fixed the sausage balls and "Big Sis" brought
a beautiful crystal bowl to put them in.

"Big Sis" made this great cheese tray too!

My friend Reba made this chicken salad.
She also made egg salad sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches.
She makes the best ever!

I made these chocolate candies.
You can see how I made them here.

The tables were so pretty with all the food on there.

I was so impressed what a good team we all made.

My friend Shelly made the best punch!
It was made with Ginger ale, seven up, sherbert and vanilla icecream.

But I have to say that this was the hit of the shower!
My friend Cheryl made this cake.

Look at that edible blanket and those little edible feet!!
Isn't it darling?
**********************
I will probably have one more post about the baby shower.
It was so cute that I just thought you would all enjoy seeing the pictures.
I haven't included any people because I failed to
get permission to post their pictures.  But I just thought this
was the cutest shower ever.  Just wait until you see how my friend Tiffany
fixed the tables.

Today I am thankful for...........teamwork!

Sparta Hilton #8a

You would think that all we do is here eat!!!!
Well you are almost right!

Yum! Bacon cooked on the fire!

I even fixed waffles outside!

There is just something about cooking and eating outside!

And believe it or not....I rather wash the dishes outside!
We have a kitchen and a sink but I make my own simple kitchen outside.
I heat my water on the fire.  Then my ice chest is my drainer!
It works for me!

My Sweet Mother In Law gave me this old
coffee pot so I can even make coffee on the fire!

I made Brunswick stew at home and brought it in jars.
While we were out hunting this was cooking slowly in our crock pot
outside under the shed.

I had made the cornbread before we left out and
when we came in after hunting our supper was hot and ready.

I promise you that eating is not all we do here at the Sparta Hilton!
We do hunt!  Well this is me sitting with gun in hand in my little blind waiting.
Maybe it should be called "waiting" instead of  "hunting"! (smile)

This is one of the views from my blind.
I'm still waiting.

And yes, I had to show you one more thing that we are eating here at the Sparta Hilton!
We are hooked on these pork rinds!  We found them here at a local grocery store and they are so good!!!! Eating is a big part of "waiting"....I mean "hunting"!!!
Having a ball though.  It is so peaceful here.
I love peace!

One Of Our Favorite Hobbies...

This is from our all time favorite Mexican Restaurant in Atlanta Ga.
Papasito's. They serve 2 kinds of salsa with chips when you arrive.
We always ask for the yellow queso dip with the fresh tortillas that they make.
Oh My goodness!

    Chicken  fajitas.
There is so much food that we always share.

I have never saw so much food in my life.
My daughter, May May is the one that introduced us to this place several years ago.
We always end our Sparta Hilton trips at this restaurant.

This is the tortillas before they are cooked.
They always give the children a ball of this dough to play with at the table.

This is my weakness. Potatoes. Anyway you cook them-I love them.  Add onions and you have me!
This is from a restaurant in Chattanooga Tennessee called The Country Place.

This breakfast is also from The Country Place in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Chocolate Milk Shake from Dollywood in Gatlinburg.

Hash Browns.  Yum!

This is my "Sweet Hunter's" favorite breakfast in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
This is called French Toast Royale at The Log Cabin Restaurant.

Have I told you that I LOVE McDonalds dipped cone?

This recipe for Cracker Barrel Copy Cat Recipe is on my Cooking Blog!
What can I say???
