So I changed the color of my blog to BLUE.
Perhaps I too have my blue days, but not in a sad way-just colorful. Have a bluetiful day.

PAINT PARTY # 7

Wow! Paint Party Friday Number 7, how time goes by. I can't believe that we are at 7, lucky seven now. I can never wait till Friday and it's still Thursday here at 9:16 PM, so I'll post. I like early. I can't wait till midnight so here I am. Hope you all have a great time visiting other blogs and thanks to Eva and Kristin for the fun. You know what to do to get there, click away.

Spring has definitely sprung despite the cold and windy days. The garden proves it with all the roses and herbs, and veggies coming to bloom and also with the thoughtful looks people are beginning to exhibit on their tranquil faces. What is it they are thinking of? I wonder?? A kite of hearts floats in the air, the sound of music is softly heard. I think LOVE is in the air.

The title of this painting is:
"AN EXPRESSION OF LOVE."

This is BONITA who has just discovered her heart is feeling warmth and joy at the thought of her special someone. So she sits and ponders what they will do when they meet up again. Her heart sings with the thought of that moment.

This is BONZILLA,  and the little lady is BONEZEE. Love comes to everyone in many forms and sometimes unexplained forms. Bonezee is feeling the love and dancing to the music. Bonzilla is watching the heart float in the air  remembering the last meeting with his lady. He smiles in anticipation.

So no matter who we are, what we look like, AS in Bonezee's case- what we are-we all have feelings that need to be expressed.
Spring is here and what a better way to celebrate the season of rebirth and renewal, of the freedom that we have, and the splendor of love.

This Is An Expression Of Love.
BONZILLA, BONEZEE, AND BONITA

Have fun, enjoy.Thank you for stopping by my blog, I appreciate it.

A Day In The Clothes of.....

...FRIDA

This picture of Frida's is one that I really love. I believe it was taken right after her Mother passed away. Her eyes are showing the pain she is feeling. She was such a beautiful woman and so full of life. I'm sure you've seen all her pix, but every once in a while I like to re-post them, plus I didn't know what to post about.:)) Frida makes the day!

FK Orange Blouse
These blouses are all from an online shop that I found. If I remember correctly, it's called Revolutionary Fashions. If I knew how to sew good, I'd make my own. They look easy enough to make, don't you think?  These  blouses are too expensive, but very beautiful.

Look at this skirt, nice and from the same online shop.

FK Vagabond Skirt

This skirt is awesome and someday I will learn to sew good. For now it's wishful thinking.

Have a wonderful day. I'm spending it in the studio working on my
Little Ladies of the Garden. I've ordered my vial bottles for the oils I am going to make (hopefully), strung up the lavender, haven't cut the mint yet since it hasn't set out it's little flowers and this is a test run and learning experience so it will just be 8 small vials.

You Tube Wednesday-Just 3 minutes and 46 seconds of your time. Goes by fast when you are having fun.

Today is You Tube Wednesday and yesterday I found this video at
Fran's blog and just had to share it with my blogger buddies. It's just awesome.

"Hi Gloria - it is really inspiring and I'd be happy for you to re-post the video." Those were Fran's words when I said I'd like to share the video on my blog.

This is Yo Yo Ma and hip-hop choreographer Lil Buck. This event was for a fundraiser for the arts. Lil Buck becomes the dying swan.

Have a great day! and TODAY is just a beautiful day.
Thank you Lord.

New Day, New Mood, New Ideas.:DD

I've been working on this lady. She belongs with 2 others alongside her that are not complete. Hopefully I can complete by Friday. I haven't named her yet.

...and then an idea ran across this crazy mind of mine to make OILS. I don't know the first thing about it, but the only thing I'll waste if it doesn't work out is a little oil.

Peppermint Oils, Lavendar Oils, Spearmint Oil, Rosemary Oil, Pineapple Mint, Apple Mint,  and other herb oils are what will hopefully evolve in the near future here on the homefront.

There are so many herbs growing outside that can't go to waste and oils are one way of utilizing besides the cooking. Olive oil, Canola Oil and there are other oils that can be used. I like the idea of Olive oil, but it can be costly. It's not like I'll be making a ton but just enough bottles to give away when they are ready.

Prints on "how-to's" have been printed out and will be read soon. The peppermint needs to be picked at the first sight of their little flowers. I've already hung the lavendar to dry.
This is going to be fun. I need the small vial bottles, and hopefully they will be easy to come by.

There is a ton more way out back and will probably just dry it. I didn't take a pix of the mint, but will do later today. In my collection of photos in my Kodak Gallery, they are stored by file name. I've titled it 2011Garden, so as I take pix of my garden this year, they are added to the file. Makes it easy that way.

Time to go to the store for milk and a couple of other items. Oh and the post office too. Mailing out some bangles, still doing the bangle thing from time to time. Take care, have a great day.

TODAY IS GRIPE DAY! GAS PRICES KEEP GOING UP UP UP AND AWAY AND NOTHING, NO NOTHING IS GETTING BETTER.

This is out of control. I feel bad for the people that have small children still at home and what it is costing them to try to keep a budget with the gas prices as they are. My husband commutes to work and it will be costing us about $400 a month if not more for an hour's r/t very soon now. We're paying over $4.00 for gas now. Last I looked, gas was $4.20??? Unbelievable.

Too much partying at the White House all THANKS TO US. We are the ones who pay for all the entertainment, food, drinks, celebrities, etc. What does this have to do with gas costs? Well I don't want my taxes raised for higher costs and to pay for someone elses costs which is where it's all going.  I'm ready for a change, this isn't going to get it for me. One thing is sure, Freedom of Speech...I'm beginning to wonder how long that will last.

Someone left a comment on my previous post about that comment Rhett Butler made, and I agree with her. Those in charge are saying:

FRANKLY MY DEAR, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!

BITE ME, IF YOU MUST, BUT....
Remember, it is a free country and I am allowed to voice my opinion and no one has to agree with it and that is okay too. Not my usual type of post but I had to vent.

Famous Last Words.

"After all, tomorrow is another day". (Scarlett Ohara)

"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"(Rhett Butler)

I did this painting a few years back and was just loving Scarlet Ohara's (Vivien Leigh) beautiful green dress in Gone With The Wind..I bought the disk set in 2009 for the 70th Anniversary Edition.
Acrylics of course was used. It was painted on paneling that we had taken down from a wall in one of the bedrooms.  Just wanted to share it with you. Think green.:)

********
The Curtain Dress, symbol of Scarlett's will to survive, was worn in three scenes: the jail scene in which Scarlett asks Rhett for financial assistance, the scene in which Scarlett walks through the Atlanta streets with Mammy, and the scene in which Scarlett meets Frank Kennedy.

HAPPY PPF #6

It's Friday again so that means PPF time! Don't forget to stop by and visit all the special blogs that contribute their beautiful PPF work.

Paint Party Friday

Since it's Easter weekend and everyone is concentrating on the weekend, my contribution pertains to Easter. I don't do well in painting little objects so I resorted to just painting the big eggs and pretty much cut and paste. It's getting to be fun but it reminds me of when as a child we would cut and paste. I titled the first page:

"EASTERAMA"

Just painted the eggs, added a little glitter, some cutouts from free clips and then other cut outs as well. Sometimes I feel guilty using these clips because I didn't paint the little chicks, I just glued them so I can't take credit for them. I did paint the big eggs and the background was painted with watercolor and a sprinkling of glitter dust here and there, and of course my color pens and Pitt permanent pens. These two egg/chick pages and what they represent are good for children so to speak, but we never forget what EASTER is really about......

......THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST

Cutouts, cutouts about the Resurrection,  watercolors, pens and a few jewels, trying to keep it simple.

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!

Taking in the beauty of roses

Hi Everyone. Just a quick hello to show you some pix of my front yard. That's me sitting there smiling at you.
Woo Hoo, ::waving::
In just a few short days this makeshift arch of Jasmine that's in the front yard,  will be filled with the intoxicating scents of Jasmine. I look forward to it every year.

These beautiful orange roses in the front were my mom's who was planning on throwing them out because they looked to her like if they wouldn't bloom anymore. She didn't want them, we dug them up and now are making their show in our front yard.

We've had these pink roses since we've lived here. They have a heavy scent of musk.

These red beautys are on the side front and their scent is strong as well, beautiful roses.

I sit mesmerized by the beauty of the roses, the yard, the sounds and this beautiful sky of ours. I see a lot of faces in the clouds, almost as if they are signaling to me.
Have a wonderful evening. I made chicken soup for dinner/french bread. Have a super day tomorrow.

THE GRILL IS IN USE!!. HoooHah!!! :DDD

Well one has to admit that what one thought would be easy may not have been so easy. Tee Hee.
The grill has arrived, unpacked, washed and on my counter.

The masa is  made and kneaded .
Then it goes in a plastic bag to rest for an 1/2 hour or so. This makes it easier to knead again and it's
 "all together" so to speak.

I rolled the tortilla and realized that rolling a "big" tortilla wasn't going to be a party. It kept getting wrinkled up and had to keep re-doing it. Since there isn't a container big enough for this size of tortillas I used somethng else. The heat on the grill had me going for a while because when you are used to making tortillas with a gas burner, it definitely is a difference with an electric skillet. In time though, I'll get it down pat.

This is the lid of a big plastic bowl I have, It was turned over and alum. foil covered it. This was to be the container for the tortillas.

Since the torts are so big, I only made 4. They fit perfectly in this lid. I'll have to shop around for a containr with lid that's big enough. It will work for now or I just may continue to use the lid. Saves money that way. So here are the four ready to be covered to stay soft and warm.

Then chorizo and beans popped in my head. Why not! They can be eaten any time of day. So here they are with lots of cheese and there is chili in there as well.
So there you have it. To sum it up, I am very pleased with the grill. Not only can I make giant tortillas, but pancake all at once for Sundays and lots of other things. So my review of this Heritage Grill is a THUMBS UP.

File:Symb...

I love it and will get used to setting the right temps.

Before I go, look at these plastic SMILEY cups, are they not the cutest? These are our Spring and Summer cups for outside when we are in the yard. Just wanted to share them with you.
Have a great week ahead. Life is great. I love todays quote. When I read it this morning, it really made me happy. Didn't go to WallyWorld (WalMart) as Pam calls it since waiting for the skillet was a day long thing, but tomorrow is another day.

I bid you peace and happiness.
