Wiz Khalifa has confirmed that he will collaborate with Britney Spears.

Khalifa will feature on a track on the 'Toxic' singer's eighth studio album, which is expected to be released later this year.

He revealed in a recent interview with Whoo Kid on Whoolywood Shuffle that it was his connection with will.i.am and producer Jean Baptiste that secured him a place on the song.

He said: "Yeah, I'm on the Britney album. I actually got on there from working with will and Jean Baptiste and just being in the studio with those two just putting together some ideas.

"I think they ran them past Brit and something stuck."

Baptiste recently tweeted about his work on Spears's new record, posting: "This @britneyspears album is gonna be album to be inspired by, and also the most thrillest and most grammyist!!!"

She is said to be working with producers such as Danja and Diplo on the follow-up to 2011's Femme Fatale.

will.i.am revealed during a live question-and-answer session on Google+ yesterday that his work with Spears will be "from the heart". He explained that her new music needs to be more than a "hot beat and a hot chorus".

Spears announced last week that she will be releasing a new single called 'Ooh La La' taken from The Smurfs 2 soundtrack.
