Plants and Play

A unique installation by artist Mandeep Dhadialla, this interactive artwork highlights the importance of play for our wellbeing.

Using a garden swing, people of all ages are invited to take a seat and swing while surrounded by a stunning suspended paper garden with large, vibrant flowers, fruits, foliage, and wildlife. The installation showcases how play can uplift spirits, foster community bonds, and encourage conversations about the environment. Free entry!

Discover 900 years of history

Welcome to Leicester Cathedral, at the beating heart of our city and county.

Discover 900 years of history

Leicester Cathedral is at the physical heart of our city and county.

Our church, built on a Roman site and dedicated to St Martin of Tours, has been embedded in the public, economic, cultural and religious life of this community for over 1,000 years. Since 1927, as the seat of the Bishop of Leicester, we now gather people together for worship, celebration, lament, debate and service of the poor and vulnerable.

We offer hospitality to the wider church, the communities of faith that make up our multicultural society and those who come as visitors to the East Midlands, especially in search of the story of King Richard III.

I invite you to join with us in this adventure.

A call for Discipleship Companions

Are you interested in supporting other people in our community on their journeys of faith? We are looking to develop our Discipleship work through identifying some 'Discipleship Companions'. We envisage that these people would primarily be involved in supporting and co-leading Discipleship events, workshops, courses and quiet mornings alongside a member of Cathedral staff.
