AIF Uncovered spaces are currently SOLD OUT.

Parking enforcement will do open stall counts the first week of classes to determine if we are able to sell any more spaces. Any available spaces will go on sale September 5, 2024 at 9:00 am CST through the AIF website on a first come first served basis.

Student Permits for Fall 2024-2025

All vehicles are required to have permits to park on campus and in residence hall lots. Permits will be on sale beginning in July 2024 according to your housing assignment. Specific dates are listed here. Permits are sold on a first come, first served basis.

Waiting Lists for Residence Hall Lots

Stalls counts to determine open spaces will begin August 26, 2024. Students will be drawn at random for the opportunity to purchase any available spaces. You may begin submitting forms online for the drawing beginning Monday, September 2, 2024 through Sunday September 8, 2024.

The drawings will be held Monday, September 9, 2024. You will be notified by ISU email if your name was selected. You will have until Wednesday, September 11, 2024 to let us know if you want the permit, at which time we will move to the next person on the list. A new permit will be assigned based upon your housing contract and the difference will be charged to your Ubill if there is one. Your license plate is still your virtual permit. Your current student permit will be exchanged for another permit, and will no longer be valid if you are selected in the drawing.

Student Permits for Summer 2024

Student permits for Summer Session (ending August 4) are available for purchase over the phone at 515-294-3388 or over the parking division front counter. This includes all commuter lots 29, 68, 93, 119 and Residence Hall lot 61. There will be no parking allowed in lots 59A, lot 62 or lot 63 as those are being held for events and conferences.

Daily Passes for Faculty/Staff

Virtual daily General Staff parking passes are now available through the ISU Parking Portal for ISU Faculty and Staff who don't have a yearly permit. The passes are $2/day and you can pay with credit card or payroll deduction. The physical daily scratch permits are still available at the Parking Office for those who would like to continue using those.

Parking on ISU Campus

All vehicles are required to pay for meter or have permits to park on campus and in residence hall lots. Students can purchase a permit online through the ISU Parking Portal. Those who decide not to purchase a permit have to option to pay for space in a pay lot or metered space. Students can also park at the Iowa State Center Lots and ride the CyRide bus for free. For more information about where to park and how to pay for meters, click here.

Vehicle/License Plate Change

If your vehicle information or license plate has changed after the initial purchase of the virtual permit, the permit holder will need to fill out the Update Vehicle Form to notify the parking office of this change. You can only add new vehicles to your permit at the time of purchase.

A license plate is required to purchase a permit

In order to purchase a parking permit, you must provide a current and valid license plate number for the vehicle that will be displaying the permit. This information will help the parking division serve you better and prevent you from receiving parking tickets if your permit isn't being displayed correctly.
