PCU to host International English as a Lingua Franca Conference

In September, the School of Education will host the International English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) conference in Prague. This prestigious event will unite researchers, academics, and teachers from around the world to discuss advancements in English language theory, teaching, and learning.

High school, language school, freelance English teachers and active educators are also invited to join Teachers' Friday, a day of lectures and workshops with a major focus on the use of language in the age of AI and ELF-informed pedagogy.

Meet MA Future Design graduate Ruth Guerra

After undertaking an MA in Future Design at PCU Ruth sucessfuly transitioned from digital marketing to design research. The programme's flexibility and diverse perspectives enabled her to explore speculative design, leading to impactful projects and a role with the United Nations Development Programme. From that experience, she now works as a consultant for social innovation organisations where she collaborates with global teams on a range of programmes — such as regenerative futures — leveraging research and design for systems change.

Exhibitions Week

A series of exhibitions for public viewing was held over May and June at PCU's Bishop's Court Studios. The exhibitions  showcased the work of graduating students from the School of Art and Design.

In addition, graduates from the Creative Media Production programme presented their final films and documentaries at Kino Bio Oko. 
 
Overall the student's presented exciting new work that provoked and intrigued visitors.

Pro-Rector Announcement

PCU signs an agreement for the Centre for International Relations

Prague City University’s Centre for Research and Interdisciplinary Studies (CRIS) is delighted to announce the signing of a five year Memorandum of Understanding with the Centre for International Relations (CIR - Centrum Stosunków Międzynarodowych) in Warsaw, Poland. The agreement paves the way for PCU to collaborate with CIR on international educational projects, research initiatives, and visiting internship opportunities.

 

Subtile Transitions Conference

On April 4th and 5th, academics and creatives from the Czech Republic and around the world met in Prague to discuss the role of art in the preservation, transmission, and transformation of memory. The conference was organised by Branislava Kuburović from PCU’s School of Art and Design Faculty, Irena Řehořová and Ondřej Váša from the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University and was held at PCU’s Bishop’s Court Studios and Kampus Hybernská.
