1992 (Baseball) At the Barcelona Olympic Games, Cuba wins baseball's inaugural gold medal defeating Chinese Taipei 11-1. Cuba was a -300 favorite for the game and entered the Olympics as the -125 favorite to win the gold medal. The United States, who was +200 entering the event, lost to Cuba in the semifinal round and then to Japan in the bronze medal game.


2001 (MLB): The Cleveland Indians defeat the Seattle Mariners 15-14 in 11 innnings and become the 3rd MLB team and first since 1925 to come back from 12 runs down and win the game. The Indians were +130 home underdogs as the Indians won on Jolbert Cabrera's broken bat single that scored Kenny Lofton.


2007 (MLB): 41 year-old 2-time Cy Young Award winner Tom Glavine becomes the 23rd player in MLB history to reach 300 career wins in the New York Mets 8-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs. The Mets were +104 road underdogs as Glavine went 6⅓ innings giving up 2 runs and 6 hits.
