Collection consists of two series. The first series consists of administrative records, including minutes of meetings, annual reports, correspondence of Washington D.C. chamber representatives, and minutes and correspondence of chamber committees. The second series includes general files of chamber business. Major files consist of: advertising (Evergreen Playground Association, On-to-Oregon Campaign, Redwood Empire Association); air pollution; Bonneville Power Administration and dam; Chamber of Commerce of the United States; Columbia River development; Columbia Valley Association; Columbia Vally Authority; industries; labor relations (especially the Longshoremen's strikes of 1934 and 1936); National Reclamation Association; National Recovery Administration; planning (Oregon State Planning Board, Pacific Northwest Regional Planning Commission); railroads; roads; Timberline Lodge; tourist industry. The records are representative of the Great Depression period, 1929-1939
