Fritz Koons papers and Komo Kulshan Ski Club records 1914-1990

The Fritz Koons Papers and Komo Kulshan Ski Club Records document the life and interests of long-time Bellingham resident and outdoor enthusiast Fritz Koons, as well as the establishment and activities of the Komo Kulshan Ski Club. The collection spans the period 1914-1990. Fritz Koons' personal papers include autobiographical writings about his own life and the history of the Mt. Baker Hiking Club, and newspaper clippings documenting Koons' involvement with outdoor recreation groups such as the Senior Trail Blazers, a Bellingham-based hiking club. Personal papers also contain employment records documenting Koons' work for Puget Sound Power & Light Company between 1926 and 1968, and family photographs dated 1914-1990. Komo Kulshan Ski Club records include a history of the club entitled "The Way It Was," three scrapbooks of newspaper clippings and photographs reflecting club activities, and additional photographs, memorabilia and clippings relating to outdoor events at Mt. Baker
