July Progress

What nicer way is there to spend the cold evenings? Watching our athletes give there best while knitting or crocheting knee rugs and keeping my lap warm at the same time. I'm about 3/4's of the way with this first half of my knitted circular rug.

Christmas gifts and using up my wool kit stash ... win win. You know when you see a project and it begs to come and live at your house? The least I can do is give them the oportunity to be loved.

I'm Late .. I'm Late

Super quiet in the workshop at the moment ... hope we can all find a little crafting time for some finished projects in the last few months before Christmas.

Gremlins have been busy at my place ... my computer is very ill ... my internet is almost non-existant and time has been swallowed up by the hum drum of daily life. But not complaining ... I am about to cast on for my next knitted wash cloth ... still a few days of September left 😊

Who else can squeeze in a last minute finish?

May Finish

The last two months got away from me, not much crafting was happening around here. First we got a new kitten and he turned out to be quite the little tornado and then I decided to turn the unused front room into 'my room'. And between watching Mr. Moose, schlepping boxes and moving furniture most of my crafty projects fell by the wayside. Now that everybody and everything has settled, I have started to work on Christmas gifts. The first one is a cowl for a friend. The pattern is called Blarney Stone Cowl and it was a quick and easy project.

Jingle All The May

It's that time again dear elf friends. I do hope May has been kind to you and you've been able to spend some time on those Christmas goodies.

I seem to be at full speed and getting nowhere fast but I did manage another small cloth finish for the gift box. I'm also planning a couple in plain white for baby washers.

Looking forward to viewing your lovely May makes and thank you for sharing and creating in our little workshop.

Click Go The Needles

Click, click, click ... my knitting needles have been getting short bursts of use in the past week. The first glimmer of a Christmas gift almost ready to go into safe keeping.

I just love working with this wool ... it's called "Giggle" and I get 2 cloths from one ball. They make amazing dust cloths and super soft wash cloths. I also have a ball of white for baby wash cloths.

Wonder how busy our workshop has been this month?

October ~ Time To Share

We are getting oh so close ... are your gift stashes over flowing yet?  There's still time to add a couple more gifts or decorations.

I managed 2 dish cloths this month, the last being finished off last night. The blue is Spring Flowers and the red for some reason just didn't want to be photographed ... perhaps my Santa is feeling a bit shy. It's also a very overcast day and not good lighting.

Jo's Santa on this post is a much better picture. Thanks Jo for the inspiration to get the knitting needles clicking again.

Let's see if we can get things humming in the Elf workshop ... it's almost time to load the sleigh.

It's A Start

My good intentions of having a make for this month were just a little too late. I've made a start on my plan for dishcloths for added gifts ... if only my eyes would stay open long enough at the end of the day.

Our daughter's wedding earlier this month was a beautiful day shared with family and friends ...

I intended to post sooner but was distracted by this little charmer ...

So back to the knitting tonight while watching some football and hopefully I can pop back by the end of the month to share a finish.

Happy Christmas Crafting

A knitted Xmas item this month

this month I have been knitting some more dishcloths. They have all different Xmas pictures on them.
I love making different designs and here are just 2 of them.

EEEK!! it's October already

Firstly my apologies, this blog is such a good idea and I really thought it would get me going at the beginning of the year but I have failed utterly.  I am already in grave danger of knitting on Christmas eve.  But I can report that last week I finished these for my daughter

I put the pattern photograph up on face book as a joke and she said she loved them!  So she gets them!.  They are very quick to make (took me 3 days) and super cosy.  Its a free on-line pattern and there is a crochet version too.

Other plans for Christmas 2014 include some items made from hand spun.  I'm still spinning...

Hope you like my first contribution (lots more stuff on my blog, just not very Christmassy)

xx

September Project

This month's project does not look much like Christmas, but it is going to become a sweater for my husband. It will not be a surprise because I have to measure and such but I am sure he does not mind. I am using this pattern, the yarn is Lion Brand Heartland in Yosemite.
