Agnieszka Stępińska
Agnieszka Stępińska, PhD hab. is professor at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland.
In years 2001 – 2003 she participated in the doctoral program Europa Fellows at the Europan University “Viadrina” in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. Her main area of research is political communication, including relations between political actors and the media and election campaigns. She has been also conducting studies on journalism and media content. She edited two books on communication and international information flow: News in Europe, Europe on News (2011) and Media and Communication in Europe (2014). In 2009-2016 she was a member of the Executive Committee of the Polish Communication Association. She is a member of editorial boards of Central European Journal of Communication and Central European Political Studies.
She participated in several international research projects, including Foreign News on TV and Global Journalist of the 21st Century. In years 2010 – 2013 she led an international research group studying Media Coverage of the Polish EU Presidency. Currently, she is a vice-chair of the Working Group of the COST ACTION IS1308 Populist Political Communication in Europe. Comprehending the Challenge of Mediated Political Populism for Democratic Politics. She is also a leader of national research team partcipating in the international project Journalistic Role Performance Around the Globe.
