I’m traveling to New York this weekend to join other change makers at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Summit. Centre for Humanitarian Leadership will be joining other commitment makers on the main stage to announce our work supporting local humanitarian leaders responding to the war in Sudan and facilitating an invitation-only immersive session featuring a live humanitarian simulation along with CGI colleagues. HUMANITARIAN LEADER | The latest Humanitarian Leader paper, ‘titled ‘Building stronger field teams for better outcomes: the Field Team Impact Kit’ is by Kathryn Harries.    This paper describes the rationale and journey to develop the Field Team Impact Kit (FieldTiK), a guide providing practical instructions and tools to improve field team performance. The guide addresses recognised challenges—that there is inadequate support for leadership, management and learning within technical field teams in humanitarian organisations, and that this hinders timely, effective humanitarian action. Harries also consulted sector experts as part of her research, who overwhelmingly agreed that use of such a guide could fill a significant gap, particularly for local non-governmental organisations, enabling improved outcomes—including in accountability, locally led response, quality, adaptability, safeguarding and team well-being.   Read the article on Deakin University's Open Journals ➡ https://cfhl.info/4gkMsdM
