Aaron Frey is the Democratic attorney general of Maine. On December 6, 2018, the Maine State Legislature selected Frey to succeed Janet Mills (D).[1] He assumed office on January 8, 2019.[2] The state legislature selected Frey for a second term on December 2, 2020, which began on January 4, 2021.[3]
Frey is a former Democratic member of the Maine House of Representatives. He represented District 124 from 2014 to 2019, and he represented District 18 from 2012 to 2014. He was re-elected to the District 124 seat on November 6, 2018, with 63.3 percent of the vote. While in the state House, he served on the Ethics and Appropriations and Financial Affairs committees.

Elections for the Maine House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 10, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for party candidates wishing to run in this election was March 17, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the primary election was April 28, 2014, and the deadline for non-party candidates to run in the general election was June 2, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the general election was September 22, 2014. District 18 incumbent Aaron Frey was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Colby Civiello was unopposed in the Republican primary. Frey defeated Civiello in the general election.[10][11][12][13]

Frey won election in the 2012 election for Maine House of Representatives District 18. Frey ran unopposed in the June 12 Democratic primary and defeated incumbent James Parker (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[14][15]
