Adam Gregg
Adam Gregg (Republican Party) was the Lieutenant Governor of Iowa. He assumed office on January 18, 2019. He left office on September 3, 2024.
Gregg (Republican Party) ran for re-election for Lieutenant Governor of Iowa. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Gregg resigned as Lieutenant Governor of Iowa on September 3, 2024, after being announced as the new CEO for the Iowa Bankers Association.[1]
Gregg served as the acting lieutenant governor from May 25, 2017, to January 18, 2019. He previously served as the Iowa Public Defender.[2]
Gregg was the Republican nominee for Iowa attorney general in the 2014 elections.[3] Adam Gregg lost the general election on November 4, 2014.
Biography
An Iowa native, Gregg attended West Sioux High School and Central College, where he studied political science and history and interned with the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Congress, and the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Gregg went on to attend Drake University School of Law as an Iowa Supreme Court Scholar. Gregg practiced law for a time at the offices of BrownWinick in Des Moines before joining the staff of Gov. Terry E. Branstad.[4]

Political career
Lieutenant Governor of Iowa (2017-2024)
Gregg was appointed lieutenant governor of Iowa by Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) on May 25, 2017. Gregg was elected to a full term on November 6, 2018. Gregg resigned on September 3, 2024, after being announced as the new CEO for the Iowa Bankers Association.[1]
State Public Defender (2014-2017)
Gregg was appointed state public defender by Gov. Terry E. Branstad on December 8, 2014.

Gregg ran for election to the office of Iowa Attorney General in 2014. He was unopposed in the June 3 Republican primary, and faced Democratic incumbent Tim Miller in the general election on November 4, 2014.[3]
